The "Monster Slide"

Grace and Trey got to experience their first downhome Southern racing on Saturday 7/14/07. Good friends Rick and Mary Koziatek came by with Baby Lucy. Mary, Lucy, Carole and William stayed home for some peace and quite, while Rick, Cole, Grace and Trey had a raucous, noisy blast.
We began with ear plugs for the loud cars. Trey is deathly afraid of loud noises, but he loves race cars, so he quickly got over it. We began with hot dogs, popcorn, coke and qualifying. Soon a prayer was said (in public !!!) and the worst national anthem since Roseanne Barr began. Fortunately, someone pulled the mike plug (mercy kill) before the high notes. And then... the races were on... to the children's delight. Trey always picked the blue cars, and Grace just picked the pole sitters to win. Grace, was of course, right on, and confessed that she picked those cars because "they would win." Gotta love confidence.
We soon found something from another time - a ten foot tall monster slide made of a strange material (metal). The stairs were steep, the railings were small, and the children were in heaven. Can you believe I let them on something so dangerous as a slide! (where's Hillary when you need her to stop such nonsense).

Later, it got worse, as the children found the Cheese Bus. They jumped on with 20 other roudy children and were off. They actually got to ride around the track with some race cars (trucks) doing their warm ups. Grace and Trey thought they were racing and that it was the greatest thing ever. Never mind William, they talked about THE BUS for days on end.

Oh the humanity of letting a stranger take off with my young children. I don't know how they made it back alive, but somehow they did. It felt like home to me!

Introducing
William Clay VanHooser!
Birthplace: Lawrenceville, GA
DOB: July 5th, 2007
Weight: 5 lbs 13 ounces
Length: 18 1/4 inches
Friends, relatives, and loved ones,

Hello everyone and my apologies for the delay in sending this, but I would proudly like to announce the blessed arrival of my beautiful son, William Clay VanHooser!

William was born on Thursday, July 5th at 1:25 pm. He starts life as a lightweight at 5 lbs 13 ounces and 18 ¼ inches long. He has neither red nor black hair, but all others can’t be ruled out. Right now, it is either a strawberry blonde or a sandy blonde.

We would have informed everyone sooner, but William spent his first night in the NICU. His breathing was a bit rushed, but this has been overcome and he finally came to Mom and Dad’s room at 9 pm last (Friday) night.

Momma Carole is doing well, recovering from her first C-section. She is in high spirits, and thrilled with our new edition. Sister Grace and Brother Trey are very excited, and we expect to be together as a family for the first time this evening. From there, we expect to be home some time on Sunday.

The site is not yet up, but by tomorrow, we expect that you will be able to see little William at www.thatsmybaby.net. Go to the Baby Websites tab, and enter 011-B3681 to see Master William.

Finally, thanks for everyone for your prayers and well wishes. We hope to see ya’ll very soon,
